Ballet Wine Bar - A Testimonial
Nestled in the heart of Glenelg, Ballet Wine Bar brings a taste of France and Italy to South Australia. Opening its doors in July 2024, the bar faced the unique challenge of transforming a historic building into a modern, functional kitchen. Mike Papatolis, owner of Ballet Wine Bar, shares his experience working with Forward Creations, and how we turned his vision into a reality.
“Our relationship with Forward Creations began through our architects, SMFA, and their director, Scott Meek...”
"He's dealt with them before, loved their service, and advised us to connect. From the moment I started speaking with Chris and Mel, everything seemed to work perfectly. It all just worked out well; they've been a breeze to work with.
Forward Creations has a very, very good understanding of kitchens," Mike emphasizes. "Every piece of equipment they put forward, because they've had so much experience in the industry, they've seen how things work and why they knew what equipment to use.
They worked really well with our builders, Elite Building. There was great communication between those two as well. They understood what our end goal was and our expectations, and they catered for it perfectly.
As with every build, you're going to come across some hurdles. This being an exceptionally, exceptionally old building, the stonework, obviously old piping, old irrigation…As we stripped the paint in the kitchen to redo it, we found water damage spots in the walls, old copper piping, everything, old electrical stuff that had been left in there and just patched over from previous tenants. So everything like that, Chris came in, redid, brought it back to new spec and build spec so it was easy to go on top of.
Forward Creations ended up installing all our equipment as well, which was great. So, start to finish, they're involved and yeah helped the whole process, and they worked well with our builders and myself.
Forward Creations are great at picking up your vision and your understanding of what you want to do, and they can execute that idea so the end product is exactly what you wanted.”
